About FESTA

Florence English Speaking Theatrical Artists (FESTA) is a group of theatre professionals in Florence, who celebrate creating theatre of all kinds.

We believe that theatre artists are a powerful source of cultural energy in our society, and strive to find ways to cultivate and celebrate this “renewable resource.”

We are dedicated to providing English language theatrical and interdisciplinary performances for Florence as well as ongoing educational outreach through the arts. We wish to create theatre for the permanent English-speaking residents of Florence (or those who wish to become English speakers!); for those visiting Florence; for children; and of course for the young Italian generation who crave to know English better, especially outside of the classroom. Lastly, we hope to work with our Italian colleagues, in both the English and Italian languages, to explore what could be a fascinating, transgressive amalgamation of our very diverse theatrical backgrounds and styles.
