Shows in FESTA’s Repertoire:

Dracula

In June and July 2010, F.E.S.T.A. presented Bram Stoker’s Dracula at the Bargello Museum, which proved to be as terrifying, seductive, and entertaining as last year’s Macbeth. Spectacular sword fights and stage combat were a part of the show choreographed by fight master Dan Lendzian. Dracula was performed entirely in English (with subtitles in Italian for the audience) and featured professional actors from across the globe!

The Velveteen Rabbit

In January 2010, F.E.S.T.A. completed their performance of The Velveteen Rabbit. This classic tale in children’s literature is the story of a little stuffed rabbit brought to life through the love of a child. The show was directed by Shaun Loftus with music by Leonardo Brizzi, choreography by Keith Farrone, and was acted by Alessandro Riccio, Elia Nichols, and the kids of FESTA as a benefit for the Meyer Children’s Hospital. The show was performed to a packed audience at the Pergola Theatre and featured a surprise appearance from renowned American actor John Malkovich.

Macbeth

One of the best loved of all of Shakespeare’s tragedies, Macbeth has it all – drama, intrigue, witches, blood, gore, and sex. F.E.S.T.A. completed their performance of Macbeth at Florence’s Bargello Museum to sold out audiences July 8 – July 12th 2009. The show featured an international cast of professional actors from London, New York, San Francisco and Italy. During the rehearsal period for Macbeth, FESTA also offered a stage combat workshop for older kids and adults led by world-renowned fight director Ted Sharon who appeared in and also choreographed the fight scenes for Macbeth at the Bargello.

F.E.S.T.A.’s 2007 performance of Peter and the Wolf was seen by over 2100 residents of Florence, and featured a special performance featuring Florence’s own Mayor Domenici, and the Consulate General of the United States, Nora Dempsey.

F.E.S.T.A’s 2008 performance, featured then-president of the provincia, now current mayor of Florence Matteo Renzi, and the Consulate General of Great Britain, Moira MacFarlane.

Alice in Wonderland

Our 2008 big adventure was one of the best loved children’s books of all time – Alice in Wonderland. This multimedia production featured a cast of some of Florence’s finest actors from Italy and from around the world, with over SIXTY TWO characters, live music, dancers, and nine of Florence’s children, in a special bilingual adaptation meant to be understood by the whole audience!
