Florence English Speaking Theatrical Artists (FESTA) is comprised of a bilingual and multicultural group of theatre professionals and interdisciplinary artists in Florence, dedicated to creating a new bi-cultural theatre model in our new home country.
We are dedicated to providing English language theatrical and interdisciplinary performances for Florence as well as ongoing educational outreach through the arts. We wish to create theatre for the permanent English-speaking residents of Florence (or those who wish to become English speakers!); for those visiting Florence; for children; and of course for the young Italian generation who crave to know English better, especially outside of the classroom.
Furthermore, , we are committed to working with our Italian colleagues, in both the English and Italian languages - drawing on the traditions of our own culture and joining these traditions with the exceptionally rich cultural tapestry that is Italy. To this end, we work with italian Actors, directors, designers, as well as artists from all over the world who have found a home - either errantly or temporarily - in this beautiful and remarkable city. |
